When Alice woke up in 2020, Killraven told her about what had happened regarding the Martian invasion, but she initially didn't believe him telling him that it was unimaginative and that this was the story described by H.G. Wells in his novel, "The War of the Worlds". Killraven replied that the first invasion attempt had been real, but since for the population of 1901 this might have seemed too terrible to deal with, they decided to fictionalize what had happened, leaving the task to the science fiction writer H.G. Wells.[1]
