History
The Hiding Place was a Latverian prison established in the Symkarian side of the border with Latveria. In the spirit of international relations, the Symkarians allowed the construction of the facility with the condition to be allowed to use the prison on occasion. Among its inmates were terrorists, arms dealers, and despots.
After assisting Countess Katarina Karkov in an assassination plot against Doctor Doom, the Chameleon was imprisoned in the Hiding Place,[1] although he still had the means to exert his influence in the outside world.[2] In order avenge her late lover David Albright, Teresa Parker broke into the Hiding Place and confronted the Chameleon. Exploting Teresa's uncertainity for her origins, the Chameleon tempted her with information on her parents and introduced her to fellow inmate, the Finisher,[1] who was in reality a holographic projection.[3] The Finisher attempted to convince Teresa that she was a sleeper agent working for him all along, but she refused to accept the alleged truth and fled, leaving the Chameleon behind in his cell, although he claimed to have no need for leaving either way.[4]Residents
