Honir Odinson (Earth-616)

History

Honir was a brother of Balder and the champion spear thrower of Asgard. When Odin ordered Balder's execution after Balder had deserted a battle to return a fallen bird to its nest, he ordered Honir to throw his spear at Balder's unprotected chest. Before the spear could hit Balder, a plant shot up from the ground and deflected the spear - as was revealed, Odin himself had caused the plant to act this way, only wanting to test Balder's braveness before granting him invincibility.[4]

When Thor had decided to reveal his secret identity to his beloved, Jane Foster, Odin removed his powers temporarily. Honir was sent to restore Thor's powers when he was attacked by the Grey Gargoyle.[1]

  • Asgardian Physiology: Honir possesses the common abilities of of an Asgardian god, however, as a son of Odin, some of them are more developed than the majority of his race.
    • Superhuman Sense of Smell: Honir possesses an extremely sharp sense of smell that he can use to track his targets.[2]
    • Superhuman Speed: Honir can move at great speed and is able to shoot multiple arrows in the span of a moment.[5]
