History
Bruce Morgan deliberately threw acid in Horatio's face during chemistry class. His features were hideously scarred and had taken on a corpse like appearance, Horatio became a recluse. He identified with snakes because they were shunned like him, Horatio spent years studying and experimenting, becoming an expert snake charmer and developing immunity to most snake venoms.[2]

- Writer Don McGregor created Venomm with the intention from the beginning of showing him with Taku as lovers, but due to censorship at the time he could not show it explicitly.[3] However, in Black Panther: Panther's Prey #2, he revealed a little more of their intimate relationship when they are called "companions" and W'Kabi compares their relationship to his marriage to his wife.[4]
- Marvel's Voices: Pride (Vol. 2) #1 made their relationship explicit and revealed their status as married, where it was also revealed that Venomm was previously in love with Killmonger.
