History

Hotath (or Hothath) was one of the gods of the Pre-Cataclysmic Age,[11] and was worshiped by the Empire of Atlantis, in which many virgins were sacrificed on their altars,[12] in Valusia[14] (though at least some Valusians considered Hotath to be an "heathen god"),[15] and in Lemuria.[8]

Notes

  • Hothath was created by Robert E. Howard in "Delcardes' Cat", "Riders beyond the Sunrise" and other stories.[11]
  • In "The Fiend from the Forgotten City" (Conan the Barbarian #40; July, 1974), the demon named on the cover as the "Fiend from the Forgotten City" was stated to be the "minion of Hotath and Helgor", then the "minion of the Deep Gods", hinting both Hotath and Helgor are "Deep Gods".
