History
Hotoru was a mutant born in Kyoto, Japan. He died four times on the day of his birth; his mutant power activating at some point along the way, and allowing him to revive himself. Months after his mother died, Hotoru's power enabled him to talk to her and she told him the story of his arrival.[2] The boy chose Deathdream as his mutant name.[1]
Ending up in the United States of America under unknown circumstances, Deathdream was pursued by a monstrous creature called the Hag alongside three other young mutants, which prompted the group to seek the X-Men's help. After engaging in a brief fight against the X-Men over a misunderstanding, Deathdream and the other Outliers were taken in as their new students.[5]Attributes
