History
Howard Stark was a great inventor and the Baron of the Battleworld domain of Technopolis, but he was also a ruthless businessman who believed there were no rules in business, and that any and all means were justified by the end.
As part of a secret marketing ploy to ensure the people of Technopolis purchased his life-support armor, he created a sickness. However, the disease proved to be more virulent than expected, and it ended up affecting every single citizen instead of the small percentage the desired. Howard erased any history records, and included neural inhibitors into the armors to prevent people from uncovering the truth.
Howard would ultimately die, and his successor became his son Tony, who continued the efforts to prevent anybody from finding out the truth and keep his family name clean.[1]See Also
