History
Howard Stark was one of the founding directors of S.H.I.E.L.D.. In 1988, they were monitoring an something entering the Earth's atmosphere and landed in New York. It turned out to be the pod of a Peter Quill, a child of the celestial being, Ego. Howard and his co-director Peggy Carter then assembled a team of heroes who could face this threat consisting of Hank Pym, The King of Wakanda, The Winter Soldier, Dr. Wendy Lawson, and Bill Foster. The team was able to intercept and arrest the child at Coney Island with the unexpected help from The God of Thunder.
Later when Hank and Dr. Lawson had traveled to Missouri to bring back an escaped Peter, Howard stayed behind and kept watch over Hank's daughter Hope. He was then able to intercept communications between the Winter Soldier and his Russian allies who were trying to convince him to shoot the boy, and make Bucky realize that their friend Steve Rogers would not have wanted Bucky to shoot him.
Once the Avengers and Quill successfully defeated Ego and destroyed his corporeal form, Howard and the rest of the team prepared a trip to Ego's planet in order to destroy it and avenge the planets and people he had destroyed.[1]
