She-Hulk's body was taken over by a Cotati before their invasion of Earth, so they could infiltrate the Avengers.[2]

History

While preparing for their invasion of Earth, the Cotati called the Avengers for help, pretending they were at risk of being wiped out by the Kree/Skrull Alliance. When they arrived on the Blue Area of the Moon, the Swordsman convinced She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters, to come with him, stating she would need a weapon to fight the oncoming war.[3] The Cotati, however, were fooling and bound her using Centaurian ironwood, before killing her and planting a Cotati inside her body, in order to infiltrate the Avengers.[2][4]

The Cotati pretended to fight by the side of the Avengers and the Fantastic Four as the She-Hulk and learnt that the Kree/Skull alliance planned to detonate the Pyre in order to wipe out the Cotati, even being ready all life in the Sol system.[5] When Mantis, Susan Storm and Ben Grimm went to Lake Victoria, in order to convince Quoi to abandon his genocidal war, the Cotati Hulk accompanied them. There it informed Quoi about the Pyre and revealed its ruse, before attacking Ben Grimm.[2]

The Cotati Hulk repeatedly focused on pummelling Ben than fighting Susan or Mantis, who weren't as powerful. Finding no other way to stop them, Susan had Mantis block all pain and fatigue signals from reaching her mind, while she held the Cotati Hulk in her force field, in order to allow Ben to convince the real Jennifer to fight the Cotati inhabiting her body. Jen was able to come back to life due to the help of the Leader and started the Cotati after hearing Ben's words, before purging them out of her body completely.[6][4]
