Part 1:
Fantastic Four Vol 1 12 Title

The Thing and Alicia are exiting a symphony auditorium at the end of their date when they notice soldiers marching on the streets. Someone panics as they see through the Thing's disguise and calls him a monster. The soldiers attack Ben -- mistaking him for the Hulk. After they subdue Ben, they realize the error an apologies for the unprovoked attack. Alicia calms Ben down and he returns to the Baxter Building. There he complains about being mistaken for the Hulk to his teammates. The Fantastic Four are soon visited by General "Thunderbolt" Ross, who has come to ask for the Fantastic Four's assistance in destroying the Hulk.

Part 2:

Fantastic Four Vol 1 12 Part 2 Title

Ross then shows them footage of the Hulk as well as the recent destruction of various military test weapons that are being designed by Dr. Bruce Banner. Ross tells them that the military believes that the Hulk is responsible for the destruction of these devices. After coming up with various theories on how to take down the Hulk, the Fantastic Four bring Ross to their newest model of the Fantasti-Car that was designed by Johnny and they all fly to New Mexico to Gamma Base. When they arrive they find that the military's prototype anti-gravity missile has been wrecked. Ross introduces Reed Richards to Bruce Banner, his young assistant Rick Jones, and another scientist named Karl Kort. When Ross tells them that the Fantastic Four will be going after the Hulk, Banner tells his employer that he believes that someone is framing the Hulk for these acts of sabotage. Kort then excuses himself from the meeting and on his way out he bumps into the other members of the Fantastic Four who have been waiting impatiently outside. Kort is frightened by the Thing and flees the hallway, dropping his wallet as he goes, and it is picked up by the Torch.

Part 3:

Fantastic Four Vol 1 12 Part 3 Title

Having become fed up with waiting, the Thing comes bursting into the office with the other members of the Fantastic Four, angering Ross, especially when the Thing picks up an entire bookshelf of phone books and rips them in half. Reed calms down General Ross and Banner goes on to explain that he believes that someone, whom he and Rick have dubbed the "Wrecker", is really responsible for the acts of sabotage. The Human Torch then introduces himself to Rick, showing off his flame powers before handing over Karl Kort's wallet asking Jones to return it to him. Banner and Jones then leave and go to their secret cave hideout. There Bruce shows Rick a scale model of his next invention a device that could erect a force field around a city in order to protect it from a nuclear attack. Bruce vows to stop the Wrecker as the Hulk before he can destroy his invention. Meanwhile, Rick goes to return the wallet to Karl Kort and seeing a card sticking out of it, he is shocked to find that it is a membership card to a communist organization.[Continuity 1] Kort, having sneaked up behind the boy gets the drop on Rick and takes him prisoner at gunpoint.

The Hulk vs. the Thing!

Later the Fantastic Four are testing out a new one man, rail-driven rocket car using the Thing as a test subject. As the Thing rockets down the rails they notice that the rails had been crushed. Ben's rocket car is quickly derailed, but he is saved from a nasty fall by his teammates. When Bruce arrives on the scene and tells them that the Wrecker kidnapped Rick Jones, the Fantastic Four dismiss this, convinced that the Hulk is responsible for the sabotage and Rick's disappearances. Bruce leaves, not revealing to them that a note was left for the Hulk from the Wrecker ordering him to send the Fantastic Four away in order to save Rick's life. Knowing that there is no way he can make the Fantastic Four leave, Banner goes back to his secret lab and uses his Gamma Ray Projector to turn into the Hulk so he can capture the Wrecker himself.[Continuity 2]

The Wrecker meanwhile takes Rick through a series of underground passages to an abandoned frontier town. Also searching the various tunnels are the Hulk and the Fantastic Four. When the Hulk crosses paths with the FF, a fight soon breaks out between him and the Thing.[Continuity 3] Unable to fight in such close quarters, the Hulk forces his way to the surface, where the fight rages on into the old ghost town. The Hulk manages to incapacitate Mr. Fantastic and the Human Torch, but as he struggles with the Thing again, a beam is fired through the ground below and strikes the Hulk from behind. Seeing this, the Invisible Girl points it out to the Thing, who digs through the Earth to find its source. Below, he finds a robot, confirming the existence of the Wrecker. Ben easily demolishes the robot and then breaks through a metal door. On the other side, he finds Kort holding Rick prisoner. Before Kort can blast Ben with an atomic-powered weapon, Sue invisibly sneaks around Kort and knocks the gun out of his hand. The Thing then apprehends Kort and frees Rick. They return to the surface to reveal the truth to Reed and Johnny and while they are comparing notes, the Hulk recovers as well and bounds away to his secret lab to change back into Bruce Banner. Bruce is waiting at the military base when they arrive, and he thanks, Reed Richards for his help. The FF is then celebrated by the military before they head back home for New York.

As they fly away, the Hulk watches from the distance as they depart, but the Hulk has a feeling that they will meet again someday.

As Moon Knight makes his escape to inform the Defenders of his findings and try to save Jack Norriss, Scorpio now has Nighthawk as his hostage beside Norriss himself, who was a necessary collaborator in Scorpio capturing Nighthawk. The Defenders reunited with Moon Knight decide they need the Hulk's power to help free Nighthawk and Jack from Scorpio's base. However, when they find the Hulk, the green goliath is reluctant to fight for them.

Hard pressed to save their friends, the Defenders have to resort to bringing the Hulk into a rampage and tricking him into following them to Scorpio's base through the tunnel under the Hudson river. However they arrive too late, as Scorpio has just activated his android Zodiac army.

Meanwhile, in Moscow Airport Terminal, The Red Guardian, under her secret identity of Doctor Belinskaya is captured by the KGB.

Brief Summary:

The Silver Surfer breaks into the Baxter Building and steals Reed Richard's latest experimental device. He uses it in an attempt to break Galactus' barrier. Instead the device explodes and the Surfer falls back to Earth. He's found by Al Harper, who offers to help him build another device. Harper ends up creating a device that allows the Surfer to leave Earth, but he is forced to return after meeting the Stranger and finding out that he intends to destroy the planet. The Surfer fights the Stranger as Harper finds the alien bomb. He defuses it, but dies in the process. The Stranger leaves and the Surfer remains stuck on Earth.

Silver Surfer Vol 1 5 -01

Detailed Summary:
An intruder has broken into the Baxter Building and stolen Reed’s space-scrambler. Before the Human Torch can catch up with him, the mysterious thief speeds into space. The thief is actually the Silver Surfer and he has stolen the device in hopes that he can use it to break through Galactus’ barrier. Unfortunately, the device malfunctions and explodes, knocking him unconscious and sending him back to Earth.

He sees a vision of Shalla-Bal but wakes up in the house of Al Harper. Harper was walking in the woods when he saw the Surfer falling from the sky. He took the unconscious Surfer back to his cabin so that he could recover. The Silver Surfer explains to Harper his dilemma, who ends up sympathizing with his plight. Harper is a physicist and agrees to help him. However, he needs a good amount of money to create a device that could breach Galactus’ barrier.

Donning human clothing, the Surfer sets out to get the money that Harper needs. First, the Surfer tries to find a job at various employment agencies. Due to his lack of work experience and proof of identity and his silver skin, no one wants to take a chance and give him a job. Next, he breaks into a bank to take the money, but realizes that doing so would make him just as bad as the humans that anger him. Suddenly a security guard spots him and tries to stop him. Instead, the Surfer erases his memories of the incident and fixes the damage that he had done.

Out in a near-by alley, he runs across a man who had been roughed up after being in an illegal gambling room and finding out that the game that he was playing was rigged with weighted dice. He lost all his money during the altercation, but the Surfer insists that he show him the location of the gambling den. Upon entering the establishment, the Surfer uses his cosmic powers to control the dice and win a large amount of money. However, the operators of the gambling room are not impressed with having lost so much money and beat up the Surfer as he leaves. As they get in their car, the man who told the Surfer about the gambling room tries to stop them from leaving. They are about to run him over when the Surfer intervenes and destroys the car. He gives the man some of his winnings for his help and returns to Harper with the rest.

With the money, Harper is able to build a device that can disguise the Silver Surfer’s molecular structure and thus enable him to cross Galactus’ barrier. However, as he was about to pass through the barrier, he comes face-to-face with the Stranger. The Stranger warns the Surfer that he should leave, because he has come to Earth to destroy it. After his previous experiences on the planet, he has realized that mankind is a plague that no longer deserves to exist and plans to use the null-life bomb to destroy them. The Surfer attempts to stop him, but the Stranger disappears in order to carry out his plans.

The Surfer decides to return to Earth in order to save mankind. He tells Harper of the threat and he goes to the police in order to warn them. Nobody believes his story of the alien bomb, so he decides to build a device that will be able to locate it. While Harper is trying to find the null-life bomb, the Surfer seeks out the Stranger. Upon finding him, they engage in combat. Meanwhile, Harper must escape a mob of locals that are suspicious of his device and claims of an alien attack. He locates the bomb and begins to dismantle it. Toxic vapors begin to emanate from the bomb and slowly start to kill Harper. However, with his last breath he disables the bomb and saves mankind.

Sensing that his bomb has failed, the Stranger accepts defeat and leaves the Earth unharmed. Realizing that Harper has perished, the Surfer tracks down his friend and gives him a proper burial. As a tribute, he leaves an eternal flame at his grave site.

The military is out looking for the Beast in connection with the death of Carl Maddicks, a scientist working for the Brand Corporation, and unknown to everyone secretly giving secrets to an enemy organization. While hiding out, Beast reflects back on the events that led to him turning into a hairy beast and how he cannot change back to his normal form. As he is hiding, the Beast is contacted telepathically by Marvel Girl and Professor X who are trying to check in on Hank since the X-Men have gone into hiding due to an increase in anti-mutant hysteria. Hank refuses their probes and hides the truth about his current form from his former comrades. Depressed because of his plight and the fact that he pushed away his only friends, Hank wanders about the Brand compound and realizes that he can continue a somewhat normal life by creating a disguise.

Reading up on make-up effects, Hank takes a day off work and goes out and makes a synthetic mask and gloves to give him an outwardly human appearance when wearing clothes, and building a harness to correct his posture to his formal stature. Exhausted, but satisfied that he can pose as relatively human the Beast retires for the remainder of the night. The next day, Hank returns to work and nobody is the wiser, not even his current romantic interest Linda Donaldson. Retiring to his lab, Hank works like a man possessed trying to find a cure for his condition, shouting at anyone who interrupts his work. However, when Mr. Grant calls Hank to tell him that Tony Stark and his fiancee Marianne Rogers are visiting the Brand Corporation, Hank tries to avoid the meeting, however, he cannot convince Mr. Grant to cancel the visit.

Stark explains to Hank that Stark Industries is looking to get into genetic research and has found Hank's work on the subject intriguing. They are interrupted by the arrival of Linda Donaldson who has come to take Hank out for lunch. Linda, who is secretly working for the same subversive organization as Maddicks, curses her luck for being unable to hook-up with Stark and steal secrets from him, and excuses herself. Picking up something with her esper powers, Marianne makes a passing comment that something isn't right about Linda. This causes Hank to get insulted and angry and storms out on Stark and Rogers in order to catch up to Linda and having lunch with her. Deciding to skip lunch to sit on a park bench, Hank has to quickly change his mind when Linda tries to kiss him and he realizes that she might discover his face is really just a latex mask.

That night, Hank takes off his disguise and blows off steam by roaming around the Brand Corporation lot. While out, he spots the arrival of Iron Man, and believes that Stark's "bodyguard" is there to investigate Linda. Hank decides to defend her, not wishing his current love interest to be hounded like he has his entire life, and attacks the golden avenger. While the Beast has the upper hand, Iron Man ultimately manages to knock out the furry mutant. When Linda and the military guards arrive at the scene, they distract Iron Man long enough for the Beast to revive and renew his attack.

When the military attempt to stop the Beast by shooting him only works to make the Beast more angry than ever. Deciding to give into his animal side, the Beast savagely attacks Iron Man. When the hero begs the Beast to stop his attack, Beast refuses and announces that he is going to kill this night. Fighting off the soldiers, he goes back to check on Iron Man. Finding that Iron Man has no heartbeat, Hank snaps out of his bloodlust and realizes what he's done. Horrified that he has killed someone, Hank then jumps out of a window and seeks hiding. However, as it turns out Iron Man is alive and well, and that Beast did not kill him as he thought, but merely a hallucination on the Beast's part. Reflecting on the encounter, Iron Man tells all gathered that after getting a close look at the Beast's face he saw a man who is clearly tormented.

Just outside the Brand Corporation are Mastermind, Unus the Untouchable, and the Blob. Mastermind had created the illusion of Iron Man's death in the hopes of manipulating the Beast into joining their new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

During his battle with the Hulk, Tyrannus has merged with the Cobalt Flame of El Dorado. In response, the Hulk has attempted to rip down the tower that houses the flame causing a massive explosion. With the containment of the flame now destroyed, Tyrannus feels his consciousness slowly coming apart, he attempts to use the last of his control to try and destroy the Hulk. Undaunted, the gamma-spawned monster continues ripping apart the ancient Devian machine. With nothing to contain the Cobalt flame, Tyrannus and the flame shoot up into the air where it dissipates in space. This is briefly witnessed by the Celestial known as Gammenon. After a passing interest, the Celestial goes back to its task of judging the fate of life on the planet Earth.

With Tyrannus defeated the Hulk still rages on, furious at being attacked once again. Goldbug tries to convince the Hulk to help them get out of there. Remembering how Goldbug initially tricked him into coming to El Dorado, he lashed out against the costumed villain. He knocks Goldbug onto a teleportation platform which raises a dome around them. This makes the Hulk remember that Tyrannus showed him that the body of Jarella was still in the possession of Gamma Base. He demands that they go there, and the teleportation device suddenly activates. Meanwhile, deep below the ruins of El Dorado, the people who once lived there decide to venture deeper into the underground cavern to form a new life of peace and justice.

At that moment, the Hulk and Goldbug materialize in the sewers of New York City. Happy to be back in the United States, Goldbug quickly climbs up to the surface. There he bumps into his old foe Power Man, who introduces Goldbug to his new partner Iron Fist before carting him off to jail. Goldbug's claims that he helped save the world with the Hulk are ignored. Moments later, the Hulk rips his way to the surface. Unimpressed to find himself in the city that he dislikes the Hulk bounds away. Meanwhile, in San Francisco, Fred Sloan continues his research for the book he wants to write about the Hulk. He is finishing up his interview with Betty Ross, his assistant Trish Starr manages to get Fred on a national talk show on the same day that Rick Jones will be on the show. This is great news as Fred hopes to get plenty of insight from the Hulk's one-time sidekick. However, Sloan wishes where he could only find where the Hulk is. As Sloan wonders about this, the Hulk is involved on a series of missions with his teammates in the Defenders which he fought in Valhalla, stopped the Omegatron, the Anything Man, traveled to Tunnelworld and clashed with Daredevil.

Back at Gamma Base, Clay Quartermain's tenure at that facility is coming for an end. As he checks out, he meets with the new commanding officer at Gamma Base: Colonel Glenn Talbot. Talbot worked on this promotion since General Ross had his breakdown and got it thanks to his past experience. He is determined to find and take down the Hulk. As Quartermain leaves, he can't help but wonder if his personal vendetta against the Hulk will prevent him from doing the job. After the SHIELD agent leaves, Talbot summons Lt. Perrywinkle and Dr. Maxwell so they can start planning how they are going to stop the Hulk anyway they can.
