History
Hydra was a secret terror organization bent on world domination. Members are known for their bright green uniforms and their oft-repeating rallying cry, "Hail Hydra!".
Formed in the 1940s by Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, the organization has endured for decades, at times posing a serious threat to multiple governments. Hydra's command structure is based on the mythical creature from Greek mythology: when one unit has been compromised, multiple units are formed to replace it (as boasted by its members, "cut one head off, two more grow in its place"). Hydra relies on raw numbers of poorly trained soldiers, supplemented by technology, allowing bases to be brought up and running seemingly overnight.
During superhero Civil War, Captain America used an old abandoned Hydra base as the headquarters for his White Star rebel movement.[1]Trivia
- A Hydra audio training tape could be found and listened to in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2. This tape features a welcoming message of Baron Strucker to new Hydra members.
