History
The Hypst'r was a member of the Brooklyn Avengers who, like the other residents of Mr. Furlong's building, gained mild powers after being exposed to a radioactive pesticide sprayed on the building by Furlong. They fought crime alongside Spider-Man, who was just starting his super hero career, but Spider-Man quickly left the group, considering them disorganized and a danger to themselves.
Years later, a couple of members of the Brooklyn Avengers died, but since they were both elderly, everyone assumed their deaths were natural, except for Psi, another member of the Brooklyn Avengers, who believed they were murdered.[1] This turned out to be true, and the culprit was Mr. Furlong himself, who, disguised as Red Hook, an old enemy of the Brooklyn Avengers, was intent on getting rid of his tenants so he could sell the building. With the help of Spider-Man, who had temporarily returned to the ranks, and following Psi's death, they uncovered Furlong's plot and defeated him, having him arrested.[2]Attributes
