Anyway... the Catholic kids used to ride me for being Jewish... the Jewish kids used to ride me for being Catholic... and that wasn't even my big problem!
There's more?
If I told you, you wouldn't believe me.
Synopsis for "The Fuse!"
War has broken out on an advanced alien world, but in a fortress chamber with a large high-tech throne, one alien demands two subordinates to bring him something he wishes. They seek to comply and are teleported elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Iceman is back in his hometown of Port Jefferson and sees his cousin. He gives her a lift in the style of his ice slides before he spots a beautiful girl walking with her family. His distraction causes him to tumble from his slide and scare the girl and her brother who fearfully run away. He is briefly harassed by a policeman before running off and changing into street clothes in the backyard of an elderly neighbor who yells at him, thinking him to be a deviant. He leaves and runs into the pretty young girl again with her family and learns her name is Marge before finally arriving home. His parents are happy to see him but scold him for his disheveled appearance.
The aliens Idiot and White Light arrive from the dimensional portal. They run into two policemen who they send away with a mind control trick.
Back at the Drake home, a party is being thrown and there is a lot of attention given to Bobby but after getting annoyed and scolded by his father, he leaves the house and runs into Marge again. Bobby and Marge talk on her front porch but are soon interrupted by Idiot and White Light who make a dramatic entrance and smash through the roof of the house. Bobby transforms into Iceman and battles the aliens while Marge and her brother run off and disappear through a portal. The house ultimately collapses and the aliens escape through a portal of their own after Iceman encases them in a block of ice. The policeman that harassed Bobby earlier soon arrives looking to arrest him for his alleged acts of destruction while Bobby's family are horrified to discover that Booby is a mutant.
All my life my folks have been trying to make me normal! You know the routine -- get a good job, marry a nice girl, have 2.6 children, ten grand in the bank, life insurance, car insurance, insurance insurance...! But there was one tiny problem standing between me and the norm --
You're a mutant!
Heck -- you figured that out when we were still kids! The very fact of what I am has always prevented me from being what Mom'n'Dad want me to be! I've seen the other side, Mary! Part of me really gets off on adventuring... Playing "Iceman -- Defender of Freedom!"
But?
Part of me doesn't! I'm torn between hiding under the covers and leaping into the abyss.
