Synopsis for "Metatron"

Below

Bruce is once again in Hell, below everything. And once again, Brian Banner, his father, greets him, welcoming him home. Every time he dies, he comes back here for awhile, then he comes back. They all do, all the Gamma people. It is how it works: the third form of Gamma, a divine essence. The energy of the Creator's counterpart. Bruce refuses to believe, but Brian tells him that of all people, he should understand that there could be a middle ground. Still, Bruce is convinced of one thing: if there is one man that deserves of being alone in Hell, that's Brian. But Bruce's father tells him he's not always alone: that's when Bruce sees his mother, her back turned to face him. He cries, and shouts, telling her to at least turn to look at him. In that moment, the Green Door opens, and Bruce is back...inside.

The Immortal Hulk is out to protect him now. Hulk and Harpy both fight Abomination, and Hulk tells Harpy to remove the stomach from their opponent, as his acid is able to shut down the Gamma healing factor. Jackie, shocked about the fact Betty literally ate Hulk's heart moments before, needs an explanation, and Hulk provides: Betty gave him an "hard reset" so that he could recover and get back to business as quickly as possible. Jackie wanted a slice of the Hulk's world, and there it is. But in that moment, one of Shadow Base's War Wagons attacks, followed by another one.

Betty and Hulk once again coordinate themselves, and succeed in smashing and blowing up both tanks, while also taking care of a re-energized Abomination. As Fortrean watches another plan crumble, Jackie asks Hulk if the theory developed by Amadeus Cho, telling Bruce is subconsciously keeping his other side in check about killing people, is true. The Immortal Hulk answers that for the other Hulks, it probably is. They recover the body of Rick Jones from the insides of the Abomination and leave, with Shadow Base's remaining forces doing the same, as Gamma flight is approaching. As always, they are late, but Samson notices Harpy on a roof, going away.

The End of Times

"Can you hear me?" speaks a mysterious voice, addressing Bruce Banner. A rock floats in space, Banner standing on it, with a corpse at his side. A bright light, enveloping an angelic being, gets closer and closer to him. He asks Bruce if he knows who speaks to him. If Bruce knows who he himself is. It is time to make his choice, to decide if he is of Geburah or Golachab. Man or Monster. "What will Bruce Banner become?" asks the voice.

At the US Hulk Operations' Monitor Team's base, Monitor One calls in to General Fortean who irritably snaps that the interruption had better be important, as he's not in the best of moods; the cyborg replying that he thinks it's relevant. Monitor One states that - as instructed - they were monitoring the locations of Bruce Banner's known associates when something happened - while viewing the grave of Thaddeus Ross, his screen suddenly went red and when it cleared the grave was excavated and empty save for tendrils of red-and-black ooze.
