History
The Immortus Engine was a time machine used by the Maker to reshape the history of Earth-6160 to his image. The exact origins of the device are unknown due to the brain damage sustained by the Maker in an attack from the future warrior Kang.[1] The Maker stumbled into Kang when he used the Immortus Engine to travel to the furthest point accessible to him in the future to determine if his empire endured, and the future warrior attacked him in retaliation for his wrongdoings to history. The attack cost the Maker part of his memories, but he came to believe the device was going to be created in the future by genius industrialist Howard Stark.[2]

- Howard noted that the original Immortus Engine was built by hands other than his own, and theorized its creator had been the Maker himself, who simply forgot about it due to his brain damage. In turn, the Maker theorized that he could take the second Immortus Engine to a past version of himself, who would copy it into the original Immortus Engine, making the device's creation a paradox.[2]
