Synopsis for "Tides"
In the nation of Wakanda, Queen Divine Justice confides in the young priest named Kono, she tells him that she thinks she lost a friend today and beings to tell the tale...
The Hulk has returned to Wakanda, beginning an immediate clash with the Wakandan army. However, the attack is quickly stopped when Queen Divine Justice arrives on the scene and the Hulk recognizes her as a friend. She convinces the Hulk to cease his attack and join her for breakfast. However, this turns potentially dangerous when the Queen quips that anyone who uses a cookbook is stupid. The Hulk lashes out, saying he isn't stupid and smashes the stove with his bare hands, frightening Divine Justice. Still, she decides to try and keep the Hulk in a good mood.
She convinces the Hulk to take her out to the Barrier Reef out on the Baltic Sea. The Hulk leaps there in great bounds, and Divine Justice is only able to survive the lack of oxygen in the upper atmosphere thans to a special suit designed by Wakandan scientists that includes a helmet that provides a steady flow of oxygen. When they finally land, the girl puts an ear piece into the Hulk's ear so he can hear her when they are underwater. She then takes him into the water where they search for the Dankst, a Russian submarine that had recently sunk in the area with all hands on board. The Queen convinces the Hulk that there are puppies trapped inside that need to be rescued. As the Hulk lifts the sub and prepares to bring it to the surface they are suddenly attacked by a group of deep sea divers who stun the Hulk and take Divine Justice prisoner. As she is taken away, the Hulk screams out her name. Divine Justice soon finds herself brought aboard another vessel under the command of Barney Fiddler of the a deputy of the United States Government. She protests her capture, but he explains that the Russian sub contains new stealth technology and is armed with countless biological weapons that they must secure. Fiddler asks Divine Justice to convince the Hulk to help them secure the craft. However, she explains that the Hulk is like a big dumb animal and that he is too stupid to understand global politics.
Suddenly, the Hulk attacks Fiddler's sub, allowing the Queen to start a fire on board. Thanks to her special suit, she is able to shoots herself out of a torpedo tube to escape back to the surface. She is caught in mid-air by the Hulk who takes her to shore. There she discovers that the Hulk had pulled the submarine to shore. When she asks how he could have known to do this, he reveals that still had his ear piece on. However, the Hulk is not happy with Divine Justice for calling him stupid. As news crews arrive on the scene, Divine Justice tries to explain to the Hulk that she cares about him. However, the Hulk isn't buying it and proves that she has been lying to him the whole time by ripping open the side of the submarine. As the crew rushes outside to safety, the Hulk notes that there are no trapped puppies inside, proving his point. Furious over this deception, the Hulk storms off.
.... When Queen Divine Justice finishes her tale, she begins to cry, saying that she has made the Hulk more dangerous after betraying his trust like this.

Synopsis for "Vicious Circle!"
Since their arrival from the Microverse, Jarella has been put in quarantine for her own safety. The Hulk cannot understand this and goes on a rampage across Gamma Base demanding that his love be released. General Ross leads the Hulkbusters in trying to contain the Hulk. Captured by the brute, Ross tries to explain that Jarella's quarantine is for her own safety, but the Hulk does not understand or even want to listen. However, before General Ross can be harmed, a helicopter drops a containment dome on the Hulk and he is quickly knocked out by gas.
Later, Bruce Banner is made to watch the footage later in the company of Professor Kerwin Kronus. Kronus has developed a device that can send Banner back in time to the moment the Hulk was born and prevent it from ever happening. Banner cannot make up his mind on what to do about the situation because of his love for Jarella, but Betty and the others plead with him to give it a try. Banner later visits Jarella in quarantine where he explains his situation. When Jarella assures Bruce that she loves him regardless of his outer form, Banner decides to go through the test.
Soon, Kerwin Kronus is having his time travel equipment built at the site where Banner first tested the Gamma Bomb that turned him into the Hulk. Kronus explains that the device will send Bruce back in time into his body on the date of the accident and he will have full recollection of the future that will allow him to change the course of history. Soon enough, Banner is placed on the device and is sent back in time. He is shocked to find himself inhabiting the body of his past self just moments before the Gamma Bomb test. When Banner spots Rick Jones driving out to the site of the bomb test, he rushes out to warn the youth. However, this time, Banner does so from behind the protective barrier, calling to the youth to make a run for it. As the Gamma Bomb explodes, Banner ducks for cover and when all is clear, he is happy to find that he was not turned into the Hulk. However, that joy is quickly replaced with horror when he discovers that not only was Rick Jones caught in the blast, but that it also killed him. Blaming himself, Banner begins to lose his mind as the time travel device brings him back to the present day.
When Banner is back in the present, history has been altered. Although he is no longer the Hulk, and is now married to Betty Ross, he still cannot get over the fact that they have all committed murder. Banner is sequestered in a hospital to deal with his trauma. However, his rest is interrupted by Kronus, whose work was ruined by Banner's breakdown. Having reinvented himself as an armored super-villain, Kronus attacks Banner. Using his chronal energies, the mad scientist is able to transform Banner into the Hulk. As the two battle it out, Kerwin sends them back in time to the year One Million B.C. There the Hulk overpowers Kronus and beats him into submission. When the Hulk reverts back to Bruce Banner, Banner is horrified when Kronus suddenly has the face of Rick Jones.
Suddenly, Banner wakes up and realises that the battle was all a dream. However, he still cannot rest with the fact that Rick Jones had to die in order for him not to become the Hulk. Rushing back to the time machine of Kronus, Banner uses it to go back in time once more. This time, Banner allows history to go on its intended course. Rick Jones lives and Banner is turned into the Hulk, as history intended. Returning to the present, Banner tells his friends that he failed in his mission, but at least it is something that he can live with.Appearing in "Do Not Forsake Me!"

Synopsis for "Do Not Forsake Me!"
Bruce Banner takes Jarella out shopping for some new clothes, and the couple enjoy their newfound happiness together. As they walk down the streets of Santa Fe, a bunch of men start gawking at Jarella. Bruce tries to defend her, warning the men to not make him angry or they will regret it. However, before a transformation into the Hulk can be triggered, Jarella calms Bruce down and gets him away from the tense scene. They continue shopping and then stop to get milkshakes without a single care in the world.
However, events are taking place that will shatter their lives forever. In a secret lab somewhere not far away, a scientist has been working hard to rebuild and revive the Crypto-Man, a powerful robot that was recently destroyed by Thor. Fed up of living life without any recognition, this man seeks to unleash the Crypto-Man in order to make a name for himself. With a push of a button, the robot is re-energized and made completely functional.
Back at Gamma Base, Glenn Talbot is still trying to sort out his life after spending much of the past in a catatonic state. Watching Doc Samson work, he jealously observes Samson's superior strength. His private conversation is interrupted by Betty, who demands to know where their marriage is going. Glenn admits that he feels at fault for all the trauma that has been the center of their marriage, but his wife pleads for him to let her in and talk about his hurt.
Meanwhile, the shopping expedition in Santa Fe gets interrupted when the Crypto-Man comes crashing through a local bank, attracting the attention of Bruce and Jarella. When the Crypto-Man notes that Jarella has green skin, it questions if she has similar strength from the Hulk and seeks to absorb it. This causes Bruce to become excited, triggering his transformation into the Hulk. The Hulk then piles into the Crypto-Man; as the battle rages, the man responsible for reviving the robot watches and hopes that the robot can destroy the Hulk. In the ensuing battle, one of the Crypto-Man's energy beams strikes the side of a building, causing rubble to fall down towards an innocent child watching the battle. Seeing this, Jarella dives at the child, pushing him out of the way of the falling debris.
Seeing the love of his life getting buried under tons of rubble shocks the Hulk, who knocks aside his foe and runs to her side. As he tries to dig her out of the rubble, the Crypto-Man attacks him from behind again. Furious, the Hulk becomes increasingly angry as he battles the robot, gaining enough strength to smash it into pieces. The feedback from the Hulk's smashing blow causes the scientist's computers to overload and explode, killing this nameless madman in the process. Finally freeing Jarella, the Hulk is heartbroken to see that his love is dying in his arms. She tells the Hulk that they had a happy time together, but the Hulk refuses to give up on her. In a panic, the Hulk leaps back to Gamma Base, where he demands Doc Samson do something to save her life.
Samson takes the woman into surgery and the Hulk waits somberly outside. Eventually, Samson emerges from the operating room and regretfully tells the Hulk that there was nothing he could do and that Jarella is dead. Upon hearing this, the Hulk begins to go on a rampage, but Betty tries to talk the Hulk down. When she tells the Hulk that there is nothing that science can do to save Jarella, the Hulk decides to seek out Doctor Strange, certain that magic can succeed where science had failed. The Hulk then leaps into the air, leaving Betty, her father, and Doc Samson to wonder what the Hulk will do next.Appearing in "The Evil That Men Do!"

Synopsis for "The Evil That Men Do!"
A young woman named Adria Wagner wakes up in the middle of the night with the sense that something is in her room. Looking under her bed, she is shocked when a man in a wide-brimmed hat and long finger nails comes out from under her bed. Her shock is turned into utter horror when this man, this stalker, uses his long fingernails to slash her eyes, blinding her. The girl climbs out her bedroom window and attempts to flee down the street. With her pursuer following behind her the girl meekly calls out for help. That's when Adria Wagner bumps into the Hulk. Unable to see what her would-be savior looks like, she begs him to help her from the monster, a request that the Hulk finds somewhat amusing. The Stalker orders the Hulk to stand aside from the woman or face the consequences. While the girl begs the Hulk to help, the Stalker tries to convince the Hulk that as a creature as hideous as he is, they should destroy something so pretty as the Wagner girl. While the Hulk finds the prospect interesting he decides against it. It's at that moment a police car arrives on the scene and interrupts the exchange. The Stalker suddenly vanishes leaving the Hulk to deal with the cops. As Adria runs to their side, the Hulk laughs at the officers threats. He isn't afraid of them hurting him and demonstrates his strength by punching off the top of a fire hydrant. Convinced that he proved himself to the officers, the Hulk leaps off, warning them that they wouldn't like him when he's angry.
The following morning gas station attendant Gil Jeffers is filling up a customer's gas tank when he learns about what happened to Adria Wagner. Although he expresses that the news it terrible, his overall persona gives the customer the creeps. While at the hospital, a concerned Bruce Banner is posing as a doctor to learn what he can about Adria's attacker. The only thing he can glean is that the Stalker called her "Addy-Addy", a nickname which the weird gas jockey Gil Jeffers used to call her. When the girl asks how someone could be so evil, Banner tries to explain it to her but his words are not as soothing as she'd hope. Bruce then leaves the hospital before he can be caught by the actual staff.
By this time, Gil Jeffers has gotten off work and follows his usual routine: buying a bunch of booze and renting a stack of horror films. He is lost in his thoughts, thinking about how he is a loner and justifying his love to drink and indulge in violent entertainment. The whole time he is unaware that Bruce Banner has been tailing him the whole day and now watches from outside his window. As Gil begins watching a movie based on "Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde" he begins to pass out. As night begins to fall, Banner transforms into the Hulk and witnesses as the Stalker suddenly materializes in the middle of Gil's living room. When the Stalker exits Jeffers house he bumps into the Hulk. Before a fight can break out, the Stalker explains how he terrorizes those he believe are deserving of his wrath. To prove his point, the Stalker convinces the Hulk to take him to a nearby by. There the Stalker points out four men who raped a woman and thanks to their mutual alibies got away with it. The Stalker brags about being able to take all the men at once and the Hulk calls him on his bluff.
The Stalker then goes crashing into the bar and attacks the men, maiming them with his long fingernails. He then invites the Hulk in to partake in the killing, the Hulk contemplates this and decides that he will. However, the Hulk is actually turning his rage toward the Stalker himself, having decided that he doesn't like the man. The Stalker is frightened of the Hulk and tries to flee. As he exits the bar police arrive on the scene and the Stalker steals their car. Frantically trying to flee the scene, he cannot avoid the Hulk when he leaps into the path of the squad car. The Stalker bails out at the last minute and then runs back to Gil's house to try and wake up his host. However, Gil is too drunk to wake up and soon the Hulk catches up. With nowhere to run, the Stalker begs for his life, but it's all for naught as the Hulk rams his fist straight through the phantom killer.
The following day, Bruce Banner is skulking around the hospital again just as Adria Wagner who is being released from the hospital. She has some small hope after her ordeal: there is a new experimental surgery that may allow doctors to restore at least some of her sight. Overhearing that Gil Jeffers is now in the hospital as well. Banner goes up to visit him and finds that Gil is in a catatonic state, having been consumed by his own evil.Notes
