Synopsis for 1st story
Sam Alexander is awoken by a transmission from his Nova helmet. It is an emergency call for help from the Nova Corp noting Warbringer has attacked them and coordinates are given. Sam has a history with Warbringer, so he quickly transform into a Nova. However, he is interrupted by his mother who is worried about his plan to save the Nova Corp and encourages him to call the Champions.
Sam calls the Champions as Viv answers and includes the other Champions in to make it a group call. Sams intention of the call was to say goodbye as he plans to fight Warbringer but the Champions refuse to let him go alone and they quickly group up. Sam is delighted to know the Champions are there to support him.
They quickly determine they don't have the means to travel to deep space quickly but Sam realizes his Nova forcefields could theoretically transport them int he Champions ship. He does so and they make their way to their destination the find a planet in utter ruin. The sweep it and find no life left on the planet. Separately an Ultron recon bot identifies and transmits the Champions location to what appears to be a distant Ultron.
Nova feels significant remorse for not being there to stop the battle. Suddenly he is radio'd by Commander Adsit who is surprised to hear from Nova. He asks Nova for his gauge number and Sam quickly deflects notes he is going to bring Warbringer to justice. Adsit tells him to not too and return back to Nova Corps base but Nova refuses. He abruptly hangs up with his callsign as Nova Sam, which surprises Adsit.
Ironheart is able to track Warbringer's location via a weapon energy signature and the Champions take off into deep space once again. In space, they encounter Warbringer's Chitauri ship and Nova heads straight to attack him without consulting the Champions. Warbringer stops Nova in his tracks and throws him down to Chitauri Prime.
Warbringer however avoids the Champions, with his eyes on a great target down on the planet. The Champions head to the planet to rescue Nova and are surprised to see the Chitauri all kneeling to Thanos. Thanos ignores the Champions as Warbringer calls out to him describing his goal to destroying Thanos' Chitauri army as he considers them a disgrace. Thanos show disregard for Warbringers plan and allow s him to carry it out.
The Champions are shocked Thanos' Chitauri refuse to defend themselves and agree that they must stop Warbringer to save the defenseless army.
