Inhuman Torch

History

The Inhuman Torch is a secret Nazi experiment created from a variant of cells harvested from Professor Phineas Horton's experimental cells. These Horton Cells imitate life but are composed of a synthetic plastic compound. The new android is very similar to the original displaying much the same powers but lacks the truly independent mind.

The original Human Torch, Jim Hammond's cells were breaking down and his android body was slowly dying. His partner in crime fighting and fellow Invader Thomas Raymond aka Toro and he traveled to the secret Nazi base of New Berlin. The two fiery heroes set out to avenge Toro's mother's death at the hands of the ruthless Nazi leader Herr Sigmund Fell. Fell was interested in recreating the Human Torch for his android army.

The citizens of New Berlin believe that they won World War II and the Third Reich is stronger than ever. Inside New Berlin, Herr Fell encourages dissent among his subjects and then recycles the unknowing androids for scraps. Herr Fell recruits the Mad Thinker, a fellow expert in the field of Horton Cell. Herr Fell and the Mad Thinker the experiment and their creation is named the "Inhuman Torch".[citation needed]

Attributes

Powers

  • Synthezoid Physiology: The Inhuman Torch has been replicated from the cells of the original Human Torch. Much like his predecessor, he possesses the mental ability to control ambient heat energy and the physical ability to envelop his entire body or portions of his body with fiery plasma without harm to himself. (Plasma is a super-heated matter that exists in the atmosphere of stars.)[1] The Mad Thinker said that the Inhuman Torch was superior to his predecessor.[2]
    • Pyrokinesis: The Inhuman Torch can generate and control fire.[3]
    • Thermokinesis: The Inhuman Torch can generate and control heat. He was capable of reaching temperatures superior than 1500 degrees Celsius and it was believed that he had no real upper limit.[3] He could melt steel just by touching it.[2]
    • Fire & Heat Immunity: Just like his predecessor the Inhuman Torch is immune to flames and heat.[2]
    • Fire Absorption: Unlike his predecessor the Inhuman Torch could absorb fire from other sources to empower himself.[2] He was able to absorb even the flames of Jim Hammond although it seems that he had a limit as it eventually killed him when he absorbed his nova flames.[2]
    • Superhuman Strength: The Inhuman Torch was strong enough to send Toro flying through a wall with his blows and could match his predecessor blow for blow.[2]
    • Superhuman Durability: The Inhuman Torch could survive the blows of his predecessor with no real damage aside from some pain.[2]
