Interplanetary probes were Skrull spacecraft that were sent to other worlds to gather information. They had the ability to scan the biological makeup of lifeforms and transmit the data across the cosmos. One such probe was sent to Earth where it landed in Cape Canaveral, after which it was taken into custody by the American government. It scanned Carol Danvers when she touched the probe.[1]
