History
Hoping to solve the world's problems, Gregory Knox created cyborg clones of history's greatest minds.[1] However, while creating the clone of Thomas Edison, the DNA sample was contaminated by Knox's pet cockatiel, turning the clone into a human-bird hybrid.[2] However, Knox discovered that bird DNA helped stabilize the cloning process, prompting him replicate the same process with the DNA of Leonardo da Vinci, Philo Farnsworth, Marie Curie, and Nikola Tesla.[1]
During the events of Dark Web, the Edison clone discovered the existence of the other bird clones from Knox before killing him. He recruited the clones to help him in his revenge against his nemesis Ms. Marvel as part of a team named after himself, called the Inventors. When the Inventors confronted Ms. Marvel, she was able to fight them off with help from Spider-Man and Bruno Carrelli. Edison was killed by an EMP while the other Inventors fled.[1]
Inspired by the Alfred Hitchcock film The Birds, the Inventors hatched their next plan to combat climate change by breeding a new flock of killer birds to destroy humanity. After they sabotaged power lines and raiding farm supplies, Ms. Marvel correctly suspected them to be behind something and investigated their whereabouts with Carrelli, who were both joined by Multitude. Multitude tracked the Inventors' hideout and confronted them at their aviary alone. The Inventors revealed their plans and attempted to sway Multitude to their side, due to him being a robot like them, but Multitude refused to as Ms. Marvel joined him. When the Inventors hatched their eggs, Multitude created a projection of Fin Fang Foom to scare the hatchlings into flying away before they could fully mature. Although their plans were thwarted, the Inventors managed to escape.[3]Paraphernalia
