History

Year 1[]

Destiny and her wife Mystique left the Quiet Council after Destiny had a vision warning her that remaining on the council would be dangerous to them.[1] Destiny's vision was correct, as Mr. Sinister had succeeded in corrupting several council members, turning them into modified clones of himself. He used these clones to launch a campaign to conquer the planet.[2]

Year 5[]

Destiny and Mystique remained hidden in the shadows. When Storm learned the truth and left the council to prepare Arakko for war, they found her and convinced her to wait. While the Arakkii made preparations for war, they waited too long. Using chimeras, Arakko was destroyed and the Arakkii were forced to evacuate the planet, Storm included.[2]

Year 10[]

At this time, Destiny allied herself with Orbis Stellaris and the two sent Raven to retrieve the Moira Engine, able to reset the timeline. Raven asked the Brotherhood of Mutants to help her, saying that this was the only way to return to the original state of the world. Raven went to Asteroid S disguised as her wife, but her disguise was detected by Jon Ironfire. Raven managed to convince Storm and the Brotherhood went to Muir Island to retrieve the engine. Raven, disguised as Wiz Kid, stole the Engine for herself, injured Storm, and fled.[3]

Year 100[]

Having turned the engine over to Orbis Stellaris, Destiny and Mystique hid themselves away in a bunker. While the Sinisters laid waste not only to the Earth, but to all of their interstellar rivals, Destiny was content to live on in this doomed timeline, since it ensured that Mystique would live. Mystique finally grew tired of their increasingly pointless existence. Wishing to fight for the world, she formed a new Freedom Force and aided the Brotherhood of Mutants in their rebellion. Mystique eventually met her end, dying while defending another world.

Heartbroken, and with nothing more to live for, Destiny decided that the time had come to purge the timeline. She once again went before Storm and offered her an alliance, telling her where the Moira Engine was housed. With Khora the Burning Heart boosting her powers, Destiny was able to guide Storm's armada past the World Farm's defenses, allowing them to steal the Moira Engine. Destiny had foreseen that after the retrieval of the World Farm, everything would go to black, which she interpreted as the timeline being reset. In truth, she had seen her death, as Storm double-crossed her, believing that all the lives that had been lived in the past 100 years did not deserve to be undone, and that the timeline needed to be fought for, not rewound.[4]

Year 1000[]

Despite her death, Destiny's influence continued to be felt. She had already made contingency plans in case of her demise, hiding a message to Mr. Sinister with the words "We should be one the same side", together with coordinates leading him to a phonograph cylinder with a recorded message. In it, Destiny provided him with the key to finding the Moira Engine; the location of the original Moira MacTaggert, as well as another message; that if he succeeded in resetting the timeline, he should come to her in the past and she will join him. She also encouraged him to leave behind his dream of becoming a Dominion, transcending time and space, telling him it would not happen.[5]

While her message guided Sinister, another of her contingency plans would aid Sinister's sibling clone Mother Righteous. She had predicted the trajectory of the Juggernaut, who had been fired as a bullet into space at the dawn of the Sinister Age, and ensured that the trajectory of the World Farm would ensure that it would be hit by him eventually. While this did not kill the Moira clone outright, it allowed Mother Righteous to break the barrier surrounding the lab.[6]
