Iris is the daughter of Hayley and Bryce McHenry.[1] Her father had disappeared from the family when Iris was still a baby. Iris' mother eventually passed away from her cancer, leaving Iris all on her own.[2] She moved to New York City and became a waitress, a job she was remarkably bad at. Eventually Iris had learned that her father had passed away.[3]
One day, a Monkey had showed up at the restaurant where Iris worked. Iris saw the ghost of her dead father, and a chaotic scene ensued, which led to Iris getting fired.[3] Not long after, her father showed up at her apartment, now explaining that was now a ghost. Iris initially refused to talk to him, but came around after Bryce came over another time to apologize.[2]

Trying to make right by his daughter, Bryce got her a job cleaning dead bodies for Eunice Jones, a job Iris was surprisingly enthusiastic about.[4] Iris quickly got along well with her job mentor Buddy Simpkins and had a fling with Danke, one of the assassins working for Eunice.[5]
When Eunice helped Bryce and Haruka to steal Bonsai Master's sword from the Assassins Cooperative, she called all her employees for backup, but only Iris had shown up. The four of them stood ground against an attack, which resulted in the sword being taken and Haruka being killed.[6] After Haruka's funeral,[7] Iris joined her father, Monkey and the rest of Eunice's assassins in stopping the Co-Ops plan to kill every human on Earth.[8] They succeeded despite heavy losses, after which her father was fully restored back to his human form.[9]Trivia
