History
The Iron Gloves were created Geirrodur the Troll under the order of Odin the All-Father to help the young godling Thor to help him fully control Mjolnir.[1][2] Later, Thor used the Iron Gloves while battling the Celestials.[citation needed]
To help defend and protect Asgard during Thor's absence, Odin cloned Thor's powers. Odin then split the facsimile in two and placed the powers inside the Iron Gloves and the Belt of Strength, items that the young Thor had already used. Odin intended to bestow these enchanted items onto a worthy god or mortal if they were needed.[2]
