Synopsis

Tony breaks into Hammer Multinational to do some corporate sabotage and delete the stolen Iron Man data. He interrupts a business presentation Hammer was holding for S.H.I.E.L.D., and as guards fire on him, the effect from his stealth armor is broken and he must make a run for it - narrowly escaping being hit with a rocket launcher. Hammer is upset, but knows Iron Man will be back to delete the remaining data, so he expects to be ready for him then and use it as an opportunity to field test his project. The next day, the friends are hanging out on the roof, and while Tony contemplates his next attack, he receives a dinner invitation from Justin Hammer saying; "I know your secret". Tony fears said secret is his Iron Man identity.

At Hammer's place, Hammer shows him around, bragging about his expensive art collection even though it clearly bores him, and treating him to expensive yet unappetizing food. Hammer believes Tony is secretly working for Stark International to bring Hammer down, but Tony denies ever wishing to work for Stane. Tony offers to give Justin Hammer Stark International when he turns 18, if he'll only get those gross escargots away from him. Back in the armory, Pepper announces that she has yet another date with Happy - Tony is not thrilled. Tony sneaks into Hammer again and plants programs to delete the data. He discovers the Titanium Man project, but is soon ambushed by it as it can see through his stealth. Titanium Man quickly overpowers the weaker stealth armor, though Rhodes arrives before he can end it. Titanium Man fires a power siphoning beam at War Machine, revealing a manically laughing Justin Hammer inside the armor. Tony gets loose, kicks Hammer down and escapes with the incapacitated War Machine.

Happy talks excitedly as he and Pepper leaves a movie theatre, the movie not being entirely to Pepper's tastes. Tony calls for her to remote pilot the Mk II to his location as his power is failing and Hammer is still chasing them. She excuses herself to the clueless Happy. Hammer catches up to Iron Man and grabs him in the air, but after some struggling Iron Man and War Machine land on a dock. Tony uses his remaining power to jump-start War Machine's backup generator, and ejects from his armor and runs for cover. Hammer arrives and stomps the stealth armor to pieces, tracking Tony and firing missiles at him. War Machine retaliates. The Mk II finally arrives and Tony rejoins the fight, repelling Hammer's disabling attacks back at him. They both hit them with their full repulsor blasts, igniting the titanium of the suit. Refusing to eject, the enraged Justin Hammer flies back to his lab, ejects and blames Mister Fix for the error. Fix insists that he had warned him, but Hammer triggers the nanovirus, killing Fix. As it turns out, he has used the nanovirus to copy Fix's consciousness into his computer, forcing him to work for him day and night from now on. Back at the armory, Tony repairs and upgrades the stealth armor to Mk II capacity, knowing that he'll need it to be stronger than ever.

Notes

As Tony shows up for Justin's dinner invitation, Justin comments on how fabulous he looks and whether he is wearing a new shirt - possibly a comment on how Tony always wears the same outfit.

Trivia
