History
An armor designed by Tony Stark as soon as the Phoenix was said to be heading towards Earth by Nova.[2]
It was created with the aim to kill the cosmic force. When Stark used a disruptor on it, it resulted in the fractionation of the Phoenix into five parts, which possessed each X-Men member present in the Blue Area of the Moon: Cyclops, Emma Frost, Namor, Colossus and Magik.[3]Notes
- In 2018, the "Many Armors of Iron Man" variant cover series for Tony Stark: Iron Man #1 bumped up the numeric designation of several of the 20 armors it spotlighed due to the Model 13 being split into 13 and 14. One of these suits is the Bleeding Edge Armor, which was reclassified as Model 38 after having previously been officially identified as the Model 37. However, the Black and Gold Armor retained its previously established designation of Model 42, leaving only three vacant numbers (39, 40 and 41) for the four previously-officially designated suits between it and the Bleeding Edge Armor. Due to the limited scope of the cover series making it impossible to determine the full extent of changes in numeration, the Marvel Database will prioritize the previous numbering, which stemmed from the Iron Manual TPB and All-New, All-Different Marvel Universe.
