—Erik Lensherr[source]I can't remember the last time I got this much attention. Why, Mr. Stark has even changed his armor for me. "The Invincible Rubber Man" doesn't have quite the same ring to it though.
History
This non-metallic armor was designed by Tony Stark as a counter-measure against Magneto. Stark wore it when he and Captain America met up with Cyclops and Magneto, who was reformed and a member of the X-Men during this time, at the Avengers Mansion to interrogate him about the slaughter of an anti-mutant group carried out by Magneto's clone Joseph, which he conducted in such a way to frame his genetic template.[1]
Properties
Overview[]
The defining feature of this armor is that it appears to be imprevious to Magneto's ability to manipulate the electro-magnetic spectrum. Aside from that, it might possess the standard abilities of a regular Iron Man Armor, including flight, enhanced strength, increased durability, repulsor blasts and unibeam.[1]
Notes
- Although this armor is portrayed as one designed specifically to be immune to Magneto's powers, earlier Iron Man suits were already impervious to magnetic manipulation by default, including the Silver Centurion Armor[2] and the Neo-Classic Armor.[3] Iron Man's main suit that he would have switched out for this anti-Magneto armor in Magneto: Not a Hero #1, the Bleeding Edge Armor, was shown to be impervious to Magneto's powers five months later in AVX: Vs #1.
