Synopsis for "Moms"
Iron Man's armor cuts out in midflight over Cougar Mountain, and suddenly reactivates. He returns to Stark International to test it. After finding nothing wrong he checks with Mrs. Arbogast for his schedule. Meanwhile, Sonny informs Moms that despite her making his favorite meal she'll be spending the night in the cave as repayment for the way she treated him as a kid. At south shore country club, as Stark wins $32,000 playing backgammon, a female acquaintance mentions to him that her plane suffered electrical failure over Cougar Mountain. Intrigued, Stark abruptly leaves to investigate as Iron Man. Sonny hooks Mom up to his equipment to test her latent psionic abilities. Iron Man finds odd wiring around Cougar Mountain, and his armor cuts out again, thanks to Mom's power. On foot he finds the lab, but having taken his helmet off, he is attacked from behind by Sonny. He's thrown into a pit to drown, but escapes through a small hole by removing his armor. Returning to the cave he knocks Sonny unconscious, and Moms asks Stark to hit him some more.

Trivia
- This issue marks Bob Layton's final work as cover artist after having left co-plotting and interior inking duties in issue Vol 1 153. Layton had attempted to stay on as cover artist for as long as possible, but he was impeded by his commitment as writer, penciler and inker for Hercules.[1]
