Synopsis for "The Vengeance of Vibro"
Vibro has broken out of the county jail after having been previously captured by Iron Man.[1] The sheriff’s deputies working at the jail are unable to stop him as he opens a chasm beneath their feet using his vibrating powers.
Back at a motel being stayed in by Rhodes, the Erwin siblings, and Tony Stark, Tony has developed new repulsor gloves for the Iron Man armor. The Erwins are fascinated by Tony’s innate genius but Rhodes leaves as he’s unable to comprehend or connect with them on the technology but is impressed with how effective the new gloves are.
In a small town 60 miles from Los Angeles, Vibro is wreaking havoc and promises further destruction without Franklin Fortney and Iron Man being brought to him. Iron Man gets wind of the destruction using the radio transponder in his helmet and flies to confront Vibro. During their battle, Vibro’s vibrating rays disrupt Iron Man’s flight and knocks him out of the air where he lands in a building where the Erwins and Stark have arrived. He complains about his recurring headaches and Stark realizes that it’s probably being caused by the helmet’s cybernetics, which are adjusted to Tony’s brain patterns. During their discussion, they establish a plan to deal with Vibro and suspect that his powers may stem from his proximity to the San Andreas Fault, where he initially obtained his powers.[1]
Iron Man ultimately re-encounters Vibro after the sheriff’s department and military are unable to overcome him. Vibro follows Iron Man in a stolen Army Jeep away from the town and further away from the fault where he is able to get Vibro to surrender after he lifts the Jeep high into the air. Iron Man promises to have him locked up far from the fault in Nevada.
