Synopsis for "And One of Them Must Die!"

Obadiah Stane's men kidnap Bambi Arbogast from her home in Brooklyn, continuing an ongoing trend of kidnapping people known to Tony Stark. Tony is meanwhile fretting about the recent kidnap of Bethany Cabe. Morley Erwin introduces everyone to a reporter from a local newspaper, Susan Mulwray, and they visit the newspaper office where she receives the report about Bambi's kidnapping, prompting Morley to call Circuits Maximus to let Tony know.

Rhodey dons the Iron Man suit and visits Vic Martinelli who lives in Los Angeles now and oversees the west coast security operations for Stane International. Martinelli refuses to divulge any information since he is on Stane's payroll but tells Iron Man to watch himself. At Stane International in New York, Stane greets the kidnapped Bambi and demands the start of the next phase of his operation in Cleveland as Rhodes arrives there to speak with the Hogans. After donning the Iron Man suit, he spots more of Stane's men and rushes to protect Pepper but is forced to rescue people from a restaurant on the top floor of a building that sustains structural damage. Happy Hogan is at his office and is himself soon kidnapped but Iron Man successfully destroys the helicopter and rescues him from Stane's men.

Tony is meanwhile back in New York and visits the orphanage where Gretl Anders's son was placed after her death but Stane's men are there and knock him unconscious and he awakens in the orphanage to discover the kidnapping was the Anders boy. At Stane International, Stane expresses frustration at Iron Man having stopped the kidnapping of Happy. Back at Circuits Maximus, Rhodey has returned and accepts delivery of a package as Cly picks Tony up from the airport after returning from New York. As they are returning to the headquarters, an explosion occurs and destroys the facility, resulting in an unnamed casualty.

Solicit Synopsis

Iron Man crisscrosses the country in a desperate attempt to learn why Tony Stark's oldest and dearest friends are vanishing — and finds sudden, terrible tragedy. Is this Obediah Stane's final triumph?
