- It has been stated by the producer of the movie, Todd Casey, that this movie is intended to take place between Marvel's The Avengers and its sequel.[1]
- The movie was initially slated for an April 23, 2013, release. It is currently unknown why the film was pushed back until early December of the same year.
- The movie reused some assets from Avengers Initiative (video game). For example, the models of Abomination and Zzzax.
