History
Isabella Alvarez was a young Ghost Rider who played professional roller derby skater under the name "Scorched Izzy". One day, at the venue of her match, she opened one of her portals, causing dozens of hell-hounds to break loose and terrorize the people of Hillrock Heights. She transformed into her Ghost Rider form, which she called Fantasma and, with the help of Robbie Reyes, she was able to send them all inside. Then, she entered the portal as well to close it from the inside, coming out some time later, having missed the match.[2]
Attributes
Powers
Izzy appears to have the powers typically associated with Ghost Riders, including:
- Chain Manifestation: While transformed, she can manifest blue-hot chains, which she can manipulate like a whip.[2]
- Portal Creation: She's capable of creating portals full of hell-hounds, which she can also do accidentally during panic attacks.[2]
Notes
- Fantasma and the other New Champions were originally conceived for the New Champions variant cover program, a series of covers celebrating Spider-Boy by imagining hypothetical non-canon "forgotten" sidekicks for other Marvel characters. In Fantasma's case, she debuted in the New Champions variant cover for Ghost Rider (Vol. 10) #19 and was conceptualized by artist Luciano Vecchio.[3]
