History

Origin

The Ish'Izog was an elder demon and an elder god (see notes), and was larger than any creature that ever existed on Earth.[1]

In the days the Old Gods walked the Earth,[2] the Ish'Izog created[1] the Infernal Ichor of Ish'Izog was distilled from the lifeblood of a thousand evil entities. That Ichor allowed one to control others,[2] but also to see through their eyes, feel their emotions and thoughts...[1]

World War II

During the winter of 1944, in France, Nazi officer Oberführer Okkulte used the Ichor of Ish'Izog to animate statues into monsters against the Invaders.[2]

Modern Age

By some luck, Cyrus Black acquired the Infernal Ichor of Ish'Izog, but didn't knew its full capabilities. He petitioned the help of Diablo, but when this one refused, Black sent three possessed man to kill him. Diablo was able to distill some Ichor from those bodies.[1]

Cyrus Black used the rest of the Ichor to mind-control a crowd of people into followers, until he was defeated by Doctor Strange, leading the Defenders, who siphoned the Ichor from the possessed people. Unable to banish it, he was forced to contain it in a Cask of Cyttorak. Some part of the Ichor eluded him, as it was at the Avengers Mansion in Manhattan, where Diablo used his small part to control the Avengers, but failed to enslave Vision, who had to be defeated by the enslaved Avengers. The Defenders went to the Mansion, but Strange was enslaved as well by Diablo, using the last of his Ichor, but allowing him to take Strange's bigger lot of it.[2]

After a fight, all Defenders and Avengers were freed from Diablo's control, who was forced to retreat. His portal "ruptured the Beyond", allowing Ish'Izog to enter the Earth plane. Doctor Strange was able to banish the elder god and close the portal, disappearing in the process himself.[1]
