History

Jack Spears, Sr. was a famous jungle adventurer and hunter in Africa during 1950s. His son Jackie aspired to be like his father but also embraced the ways of the jungle, earning the name Jungle Boy among the natives. While Jack, Sr. was proud that his son wished to follow in his foot steps, the elder Spears believed the jungle was a dangerous place and often told his son to stay out of danger. In his earliest recorded adventure, Jack assisted the Kadubi tribe in revealing an impostor among their midst who was attempting to sell the land to Bostonian gold dealer Borelli.[1] When tribes people began disappearing, Jack investigated. When his son Jackie came to him telling a wild story about a bat creature, Jack Sr. disbelieved it and told his son to remain in the village while he went out with a hunting party to search for the missing locals. Ultimately Jungle Boy recovered the locals, part of a complex and bizarre communist plot, and brought them back to his father.[2]

Jack continued to have adventures in the jungle often aided or rescued from danger by his son.
