History

After serving in the British Army, 'Black' Jack Tarr went on to work for MI6, the British secret service. In MI-6, Tarr came under the command of Sir Denis Nayland Smith. Many years later, Smith called upon Tarr's aid to defeat Shang-Chi who had supposedly killed Smith's old friend Dr. Petrie. Eventually, they became allies and banded together to oppose Shang-Chi's father, the criminal overlord Fu Manchu.

After they defeated Fu Manchu, the group stayed together as Freelance Restorations.
