History

Wolverine joined the island of Krakoa created by the X-Men. He participated in the attack that led to the destruction of Master Mold, during which he confronts Bolivar Trask, wanting revenge for the death of Jubilee. Wolverine killed Bolivar Trask but failed to stop him from transmitting critical data back to Orchis. He died in the course of the mission, but was resurrected by the Five right after that. Back on the island, he was still upset that it took until the death of Jubilee to unite everyone.[1]

At a sparring match in the arena, Sabretooth tried to act friendly with Wolverine, but Wolverine wasn't having any of it. He went to see Jean Grey, and after she was called off to an Inner Circle meeting, Wolverine secretly weny to investigate Jubilee's death. He eventually sniffed his way to her hiding place, not knowing that he was being trailed by Sabretooth.[2]

Wolverine was called away from Jubilee's hiding place by Jean Grey before he could find anything. He arrived at the chamber where Forearm's body lay, him been killed after going through a strange portal, and his body returned with a message. He was chosen by Apocalypse as one of the warriors to go to Polemachus and fight Arkon's own champions. During the contest Wolverine killed Lady Deathstrike, who with her last words revealed that Trask was still alive. The contest was won by Apocalypse, who decided to stay on Polemachus.[3]

Wolverine participated in the Inner Circle Gala, meeting his old teammates from the New Fantastic Four. When Jean revealed that she was once again connected to Phoenix, he immediately sensed trouble. He punched Cyclops and stormed off from the Gala. Wolverine then caught Sabretooth's scent and tracked it to Jubilee's hiding ground. There, he found that Beast, Sabretooth, and the other mutants resurrected from Polemachus have captured Jubilee whose secret was out.[4]

Trask returned as Nimrod and attacked the X-Men, injuring Jubilee. Jean prepared to unleash the Phoenix Force, but Jubilee realized that it could give her one last use of her resurrection powers. Jean warned Jubilee that this would erase her secondary mutation and all memories of her past lives, but Wolverine told her that as long as the X-Men had a fighting chance, they would figure something out. Jubilee then used the Phoenix to destroy Nimrod and propel herself into her next life.[5]
