History

Like most Krakoan mutants, Wolverine was compromised upon resurrection, with Sinister-like personality taking over. He killed Cypher when the latter had discovered that Krakoa had been left brain-dead.

After the Avengers were also corrupted and driven into increasingly villainous and anti-social acts, Wolverine and the X-Men killed them and usurped their place as "Earth's Mightiest Heroes."
