History
With Carnage on the loose and taking over Doverton, Colorado, the U.S. Armed Forces needed Symbiotes to combat symbiotes.
After the Hybrid symbiote was de-fused, Lieutenant James Murphy, who was part of Mercury Team, was given the symbiote known as Agony.[1]
He and the other human members of the Mercury Team were later killed by Carnage when the criminal by chance encountered their secret base located in Carrington Cottage during his murderous journey around the United States of America.[2]Attributes

Trivia
- The Agony name for the symbiote wasn't officially used until Carnage, U.S.A. #2, with James Murphy as host.
- Agony was actually a fan-made name, but stuck in the symbiote mythos when the symbiote was passed on to Leslie Gesneria.
