History
Little is known about the early life of Dr, James Power before he married Margaret Power and fathered four children: Alex, Julie, Jack and Katie. His history is most likely largely identical to that of his Earth-616 counterpart.
Being an inventor, James Power frequently had to move his family because of different jobs and assignments. He hoped that would change when he got a job at Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., working for Douglas Carmody to develop a new method of converting matter to antimatter without impractically large expenditures of energy. Unbeknown to him however, his new employer Carmody was actually in league with an alien race called the Snarks, who wanted to possess this invention for themselves. When Dr. Power had succeeded in creating his device, the Snarks abducted both him and his wife. Another alien named Aelfyre Whitemane interfered and kept the Snarks from abducting the four children as well. When Whitemane was critically injured in battle, he passed his four powers onto Dr. Power’s children so they could save their parents and stop the Snarks. The four kids succeeded in their assignment without their parents finding out about their new abilities. In the adventure, Carmody was unmasked and arrested, and project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. closed down, forcing the Power Family to move again.
Right now, Dr. Power resides in New York with his family. He has a job at S.W.O.R.D[1] He and his wife are still in the dark about their children’s adventures as the superhero team Power Pack. It’s unknown if, like his Earth-616 counterpart, he had a mental block installed by Whitemane to keep him from finding out about his kids' superhero lives, or if his lack of knowledge is merely the result of his kids keeping it a secret themselves.
