James Wagler and his family visited medium Claire Voyant for a seance, but before she could reveal anything she was accused of being a hoax by them. Unaware that they are being watched by Satan himself, Claire suddenly blurted out a curse against the family. That night as the Waglers were returning home, they had a terrible car accident that killed Patricia Wagler and their mother, leaving James Wagler to seek revenge. Finding Claire's home, he shot her dead. Satan recovered Claire's body and brought it down to Hell where he revived her as the Black Widow. Her first task was to get revenge against James for killing her. She tracked James to the docks in New York where he is grieving over the loss of his family. Confronted with the woman he had killed moments ago, the fearful James attempted to flee, however the Black Widow caught up with him and touched his brow. Her touch killed him instantly and when a police officer arrived on the scene the Widow disappeared. When the officer inspected the dead man's body he was shocked to find the mark of the Black Widow on his brow.[1]
