History
Early Life[]
Jamie Flores is the daughter of screenwriter Alex Flores and lived with her mother in Los Angeles. As a bright and imaginative child, Jamie quickly formed a bond with their neighbor, Wonder Man, who became a positive and protective presence in her life.[1] Jamie was present during several key events involving Wonder Man, including the brutal attack by the ionically altered refugee Angkor.[2]
Gaining Powers[]
Jamie was one of eight people exposed to a powerful surge of ionic energy following Wonder Man's loss of control after the Angkor encounter.[3] Though no immediate changes were noticed, Jamie eventually discovered she could project a dream-state version of herself—a sort of psychic avatar that could separate from her physical body and interact with others while she slept.[4] Despite her young age, Jamie was courageous and enthusiastic about her abilities. With the encouragement of Esteban Beach Stat, Jamie joined the group of empowered friends when they formed the Crazy Eight. She adopted the codename Dreamer, reflecting her power and her youth.[5]
Adventures with the Crazy Eight[]
Dreamer accompanied the team during their first mission against the corrupt paramilitary unit Armed Response, exposing their ties to Lotus Newmark.[6] During the subsequent assassination attempt on the group, Dreamer fought alongside her mother and friends against Splice and Rampage, demonstrating impressive control over her powers under pressure.[7]
Aftermath[]
After a metaphysical conflict involving Mephisto, Blackheart, and the Grim Reaper, Wonder Man reabsorbed the ionic energy from his friends to prevent further chaos.[8] However, Dreamer along with Stat secretly resisted the process and retained her abilities.[9] Following Wonder Man's apparent death during the battle with the alien Scatter[10], the Crazy Eight disbanded.
