History

To avenge the murder of her father, Janet Van Dyne sought the aid of Dr. Henry Pym, better known as Ant-Man. Pym's treatments allowed her to grow or shrink in size, and gave the ability to fly and fire bursts of bioelectric energy. In time she left Pym's shadow to become a hero and leader in her own right, and one of the most steadfast members of the Avengers, of which she was founder.

She was one of the many superheroes who joined S.H.I.E.L.D.'s alliance against villains after a mysterious Pulse hit the Earth and left a material called Isotope-8, desired by both heroes and villains.
