History
It was predetermined that Janet Van Dyne and her husband Henry Pym would become the superhero couple Giant-Man and Wasp through the utilization of Pym Particles, a distinctive set of subatomic particles that have the capacity to alter an individual's mass and size. Nevertheless, an intervention by the extradimensional time-traveler, the Maker, during his mission to systematically eradicate superheroes before they had the opportunity to emerge, irreversibly altered the course of their lives. The Maker would inflict irreversible brain damage upon Henry and would then take a Pym Generator from them to store in one of his numerous repositories as an artifact.
