History
The scientist Vernon Van Dyne conducted experiments on Gamma Radiation to reach other worlds in his laboratory at a penthouse in New York City. The penthouse also served a residence for himself and his daughter Janet. One day, when Janet was not home, Dr. Van Dyne accidentally contacted another dimension, allowing the criminal known as the Creature from Kosmos to access the laboratory. After wrecking the device to close the portal and killing Vernon Van Dyne to cover his existence, the Creature of Kosmos ran free. Janet Van Dyne returned home to discover her father's corpse. She approached her father's scientist colleague Hank Pym for help. As the astonishing hero Ant-Man, he joined her in investigating the laboratory. Her wish to avenge her father led her to join Pym as the crime-fighter heroine known was the Wasp.[1]
Years later, after becoming a renowned Avenger, the Wasp reformed the penthouse as an upscale bar with sections reserved for the superhero community as well as a specialized Avengers Headquarters. Her intentions were to provide a place to amicably discuss and sort out differences and conflicts in order to prevent unnecessary fights. Initially struggling to baptize the location,[2] the Wasp decided to name it the Jarvis Lounge after the loyal assistant of the Avengers Edwin Jarvis. Her decision was made after Jarvis helped her and her step-daughter Nadia defeat the Creature from Kosmos.[3] The Avengers Captain Marvel and Iron Man settled the reformulation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the Jarvis Lounge.[4]Residents
