History

The life story of this Jack O'Lantern mirrored that of his Earth-39941 counterpart up until the night he attacked the docks of New York City. Unlike his counterpart, however, this Jack O'Lantern was knocked out by Spider-Man (actually a future version of Eddie Brock called the Illuminated puppeteering Spider-Man's unconscious body through the Black Suit) as soon as the two crossed paths.

After "Spider-Man" saved two security guards from dying in the fire Jack caused in the docks, the mercenary regained consciousness and tried to kill them all, as he couldn't leave any witness alive. During the fight that ensued, "Spider-Man" injured Jack's leg and menaced to end his life if he did not behave. Jack, consequently, decided to quit. On his way out of the docks, Jack encountered Eddie Brock and ended their deal.
