History

Jean-Luc LeBeau was the former leader of the Thieves Guild and adopted father of Gambit.

Jean-Luc adopted Gambit into his family after having had his pocket deftly picked by the boy. He recognized his potential talent as a thief, and saw something different when he looked into his red eyes. Another reason for adoption was that Gambit had previously traveled through time, where he saved a young Jean-Luc, and helped the Thieves Guild fight against Candra. To maintain the stability of the time loop, Jean-Luc adopted and raised Remy.

It was also Jean-Luc who taught Remy to fight with a bo-staff, and trained him more in fighting skills.
