History
The daughter of New York City police inspector Phillip DeWolff and his wife Celia, Jean DeWolff became a police detective herself, following in her father's footsteps. She worked her way up the ranks to become a captain, and became known for her love of 1930s-style clothing and cars. She met Spider-Man and each became an ally of the other. Jean felt an attraction towards Spider-Man, although she did not verbalize her desires towards him.
Jean's brother, Brian became the costumed criminal known as the Wraith, who was eventually stopped by Spider-Man. Although Jean and Brian were close, this did not affect Jean's relationship with Spider-Man.
