History
X-Men[]
Jean Grey was Xavier's first mutant student.[1] Her telepathic powers first manifested as a child, when she witnessed the death of her best friend Annie Richardson. Jean's parents were approached by Charles Xavier, who offered to help her. When she said to Xavier that her parents said that she thinks too much, he reassured her by telepathically saying that he does too.[2]. Jean was a warm hearted friendly person who when necessary stepped in and played peacemaker between Cyclops and Wolverine and the rest of the team.[3]
She was in relationship with Cyclops. While on a date, they were both kidnapped by the Morlocks because their leader, Callisto, wanted Cyclops as her companion. Jean managed to telepathically contact Professor X, who sent the other X-Men to rescue them.[4]
When the Juggernaut destroyed the X-Men's mansion, Jean helped to fight him and managed to hypnotize him, making him temporarily forget who he was.[5] She also fought Apocalypse and his Horsemen alongside the rest of the team.[6]
Days of Future Past[]
The X-Men were approached by the time-traveler Bishop, who told them that one of them would assassinate Senator Kelly, leading to a dystopian future. Most of the X-Men did not believe him, but Jean sensed that his feelings were genuine. They were attacked by the Sentinel Nimrod, who had followed Bishop from the future. Nimrod quickly knocked out Jean, but Bishop managed to send him back to the future. Bishop then revealed that the assassin was believed to be Gambit.[7]
The X-Men traveled to Washington, D.C. to prevent Kelly's death, and it turned out that the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants were the actual assassins, with the shape-shifter Mystique posing as Gambit. Jean and the rest of the team defeated the Brotherhood, but Kelly was abducted by Magneto.[8] A group of Sentinels saved him from Magneto, but Master Mold planned to replace the brains of Kelly and other politicians with computers. The X-Men attacked the Sentinels' base and Jean and Cyclops confronted Master Mold. Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels, realized that his creation had to be destroyed, and blew up the entire base. Jean took Kelly to safety while Cyclops rescued Wolverine and Gambit.[9]
Jean and Scott eventually got married. However their marriage was interrupted by Mr. Sinister and his Nasty Boys who wanted to kidnap them because their genes held the key to creating the perfect mutant. They were rescued by the other X-Men and Mr. Sinister was nearly destroyed by Cyclops.[10]
Later, she assumed the power of the Phoenix Force.[11] However, the power overwhelmed her in time and transformed her into the Dark Phoenix. She is however freed from the cosmic entity and returned to being a X-Man.[12]
The X-Men resolved to sacrifice themselves to stop the asteroid from crashing. Jean projected her and Scott into Cable's mind, so that they could say a final goodbye to their son. With Magneto awakening just in time, the X-Men managed to save the world from the crashing asteroid, before suddenly disappearing, scattered across time.[13]
Six months after her disappearance she was listed as MISSING PRESUMED DEAD on Forge's roster.[13]
The Future[]
Scott and Jean suddenly found themselves in the year 3960 AD. There, they encountered Clan Askani, as well as a young version of Cable.[13]Attributes
