Jerome Gerty was the warden of Ryker's Island. He arranged the Punisher's escape from prison in order to join the Trust, by making him believe they were a group of private citizens sharing his concerns regarding organized crime.[1]
When the Punisher learnt the true purpose of the Trust, Gerty shot himself when Castle confronted him, as he did not want to end up as an inmate in his own prison.[2]
