Joey was the son of the Eternal Thena.[1] Like other such Nephilites, he possessed both an extended lifespan and various special abilities, but was not considered a True Eternal.[2]
In 2115 AD, Ben Urich's granddaughter Michelle visited Joey in Stuttgart, Germany. Having long researched the Eternals, Michelle sought information about the time they stopped the Horde from destroying humanity in the Heroic Age. Joey told her most of the story as it happened, but then added that every Eternal except for him, Phastos and Ajak have been trapped in the Uni-Mind ever since. Joey then erased Michelle's memory of the meeting and took away her research, after which he met with Ikaris, Makkari and Sersi, revealing that at least part of the story he told her was untrue.[1]Attributes

- Telepathy: Joey was seen altering a baseline Human's memory of recent events.
- Armor Manifestation: Joey was able to manifest armor on his body, similar to True Eternals.
