-- J. Jonah Jameson src

J. Jonah Jameson is a reporter for the Daily Bugle, a popular, yet controversial, New York City news and media outlet. He received and broadcasted doctored footage taken by Mysterio during a battle against Spider-Man in London which seemingly proved Spider-Man to be the villain of it all, and then showed footage in which Mysterio revealed Spider-Man's true identity to be Peter Parker.[1]

  • J.K. Simmons previously portrayed John Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. When asked to reprise his role, Simmons called Raimi and asked for his blessing.[2]
  • To offer a better reflection of the changes in the state of journalism, this portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson borrowed inspiration from infamous radio show host and far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.[3]
